Ensete perrieri

The only banana native to Madagascar where it is critically endangered due to deforestation - down to only 5 mature plants at one point.  In its habitat it can grow to over 5m tall with a blueish pseudostem swollen at the base and leaves with yellow midribs pointing upwards on short stalks.  Rarely seen in cultivation. 

Not hardy.
