From Yunnan in China, this is one of the smaller species of banana, growing to only around 2 metres. It flowers quickly for a banana, and the fruits are edible but packed full of seeds. Well worth a try as a container plant in the UK where it will quickly clump up. Not at all hardy, so will need to be brought undercover and given some heat during the winter months.
Please note that these are small plants and will need to be kept frost free this winter with a minimum temperature of around 10C.
